The San Diego Museum of Art's Art of East Asia galleries feature 280 works of art from the museum's excellent collections from China, Japan, and Korea. Many had never before been on display.
Proto Productions fabricated built-in, pedestal, and wall archival cases. Our built-in wall cases were mounted flush to the walls with gas spring-assisted access. Built-in cases fabricated with Proto’s case frame system feature concealed hinges, double-gasket seals, 3/8" glass with UV filtering, and high security locks. The fabric wrapped interiors varied by section to compliment the art from each region. Proto also included state of the art LED down lights and LED strip lighting to further enhance the artifacts.
Pedestal cases were finished with low-sheen semi-gloss black paint and a solid teak inlay accent strip. All cases used our proprietary vitrine frame system that provides gasket-sealed artifact chambers to prevent the intrusion of insects and debris.
