Four Sided Pedestal Case
Four-sided cases provide generous views on three sides. A solid back panel provides a substrate for graphics or mounting additional objects. The removable back provides flexibility for installing artifact mounts. Four-sided cases can be freestanding, installed back-to-back, or secured to gallery walls.

Four Sided Pedestal Case Options
Ultraviolet (UV) Filtering
Ultraviolet light can be extremely detrimental to sensitive artifacts. Special ultraviolet filtering acrylic is available. Laminated glass, consisting of two sheets of glass bonded to a center clear plastic sheet, has the option of incorporating a UV filtering center layer.
Decks
All decks are fabricated from a variety of non off-gassing materials. Conservation materials such as aluminum plate, aluminum honeycomb, acrylic, Dibond aluminum/polyethylene composite and Ethafoam are options. Acrylics and aluminum can be painted using zero VOC water based paints, laminated, or wrapped with fabric. Ethafoam, which is a high-density foam, can be bonded to an aluminum plate or Dibond sheet and fabric wrapped to provide flexibility in mounting artifacts. A variety of deck options are available including flat, raised, and sloped.
Back Panels
Back panels are fabricated from a variety of non off-gassing materials. Conservation materials such as aluminum plate, acrylic, Dibond aluminum/polyethylene composite and Ethafoam are options. Storage
Cases with a pedestal style base can include hinged access doors with shelves inside. This space can securely store extra literature, other supplies, or equipment for use in the gallery. Storage areas also hold climate control systems that are connected to the display area. Drawers for storage may also be added.
Risers
Risers give the curator or designer a way to highlight specific objects by elevating them above the deck. Risers may be constructed of a variety of archival materials to ensure they meet conservation requirements. They are available with a zero VOC paint finish or wrapped with museum grade linen fabric.
Shelving
Shelves, in a variety of materials, may be fixed or adjustable, depending on the type of case and your needs. Adjustable shelves may me supported by shelf brackets where the shelf standards are hidden in the back panel of the case providing a clean look.
Gas Assist Springs
Gas assist springs make opening and closing easier and safer. Just like the struts on car hatchback they take some of the weight of the hinged vitrine or glass and hold it open while working inside the case. Our gas assist springs include dampeners that slowly lower the open access to prevent injury.
Climate Control
In situations requiring a stable internal environment to preserve sensitive items such as paper, cloth and many other materials accommodations may be made for a passive system using desiccant material. We also offer active systems that control internal humidity. Our cases are tightly sealed with silicone gaskets to minimize air exchange with the external environment.
Lighting
We use LED lighting that is dimmable, emits no UV rays, generates minimal heat, is energy efficient and long lasting. Light bars or downlights are the typical applications, but we can also provide other light sources suited to your needs. All of our lighting comes with dimmers that allow for precise control. Timers, proximity sensors and power cutoffs are also available.
Security
Depending on the style of case and your requirements we offer a range of security systems from simple screws requiring a special driver to high security key locks or other types of systems. Sensors and alarms may be added to cases and can interface with building security systems.
Display Drawers
Collections are often more extensive than can be effectively displayed in cases. In that situation display drawers make more of the collection available for visitors to examine. Additional objects are displayed and protected in drawers with clear covers. Drawers can be self-closing.
Finishes
A wide variety of finishes may be applied to case bases including paint, laminates or fine wood veneers. All of our paints are zero or low VOC and mixed to any custom color desired. High-pressure laminates are available from a number of different manufacturers. Cherry, oak, maple or other wood veneers add an elegant touch to a case.
